The Perfect Illusion

“The perfect is the enemy of the good.” – J.D. Roth

There is a perfect illusion that we feed ourselves that keeps us in our safe zone. By maintaining this illusion we can live in our safe little bubbles and not risk ourselves. The illusion is that there is some ‘perfect moment’ to act; that there will be some place in space or time where action will yield no negative effects.

The truth is there is no such thing as the perfect moment. Life requires a certain amount of balls; you can’t get by without risking yourself. That perfect situation you have in your head won’t happen in the real world.

To overcome this illusion, realize when the situation is good enough, have faith in yourselves or some other being, have the courage to act, and finally, but most important, ACT!
