If you’ve ever brought your idea to someone, you know that is where ideas stop being fun. Why? Because they expect YOU to follow through on that idea.

Want to have real fun? Take your idea, present it to someone with  decision making power, and accept the full responsibility of seeing that idea from beginning to end.

Ideas in action. Less fun. More fulfillment.

Don’t.

Instead search for the reasons that inspire you. Then twist that into something beautiful, new, and something that will resonate with the world you want so desperately to change.

You are unique, but you are not original.

It’s impossible to be original. From the moment you were taken out of your mother’s womb you began looking at others. You crafted your story, your view of the world, from each person you passed and every path you crossed. You were made from a thousand experiences, without which you would be a different person.

Ask yourself: Some people touch(ed) you deeper than others. Why? Some experiences are more vivid, and make life seem more alive. Why? Some songs, even from the same album, get played 10x as often. Why.

Stop searching for why you aren’t good enough. Search for what moves you, and let it work it’s magic.

No?  Complete this sentence: “I need you, please do ___, ___, and ___”. If you can’t fill in the blanks, then you don’t ‘need’ someone to help you, you need someone to do it for you.

Stand and fight. The world needs you now. It needs strong brave warriors who won’t give in at the first sign of trouble. It needs your courage, it needs your intellect, it needs your spirit, and most importantly you it needs you to fight! Don’t not surrender. Do not give up. A pure mission will guide you through the darkest of times, let it. Follow your mission like a flower follows the sun. You are amazing, unique, one of a kind. The world can not replace you,and we can not find another you. That makes you very important. We need you to keep going, to succeed. No matter how small the next action may be, take it. Don’t look back, keep moving forward. The battle is never over, and we must prevail.

I bought a new computer keyboard because my home keyboard hurts my wrists(bad for a writer)

I bought a book to email to a friend.

I bought into 2 freelance courses and 1 get out of debt courses.

I bought a mouse to compare it to my existing mouse.

These are all investments. The total of these comes to well over $1,000.

Now I’m as frugal as they come. I have a manual grey water system. I don’t buy my lunch(ever). I don’t buy alcohol or soda. I cook most food at home. I argue with my wife about how frequently to eat out.

But a time comes when even the frugal have to admit you can only trim so many expenses. At some point you have to turn your attention to the income side of the equation.

For all the frugal people out there, Ramit is wrong, you can be frugal and entrepreneurial. A middle ground can be had if you are willing to pay the price. The price is doing your homework and investing money in materials that push you forward. As with any money decision, you spend your money wisely, in ways that enhance your life, and allow you to live your life with passion.

Celebrate the small victories. In the beginning, that’s all we ever have.

While not as common, the mind also needs to be stretched. It needs to explore, challenge, solve, wander, or otherwise be free to make connections it doesn’t usually make.

When you involve stretching your mind in your daily routine, your mind becomes nimble. It becomes easier to think through an idea, to accept new ideas, and to find new connections no one else can make.

Unlike the body, your mind doesn’t ache from misuse. One day it just…

To understand what I mean, we must first acknowledge that we are not really free. We have the illusion of freedom, but if you wouldn’t shell out double the price you paid for your house or you wouldn’t go to work tomorrow if you hit the lottery, then you are a slave the system we have setup. Same as me.

Once we acknowledge the shackles of our slavery exist, then you can understand the source of my fear. Fear from a boss, a mortgage company, a debt collector, a car accident, a hot water heater, or worse all of the above. One alone is enough to throw off our equilibrium. It’s in these moments when we realize how tight those shackles can become.

Someone, probably another slave, shakes the chains that hold you captive. They yell and scream that you need to. Or else.

I fear that.

I hate that.

That is the enemy I fight.

I will protect the castle of my heart, of my mind, and most ferociously, of my soul. Shackles tie down our bodies, but only we can put shackles on our own mind.

Use the fear. Not to recommit to working harder in the illusion of our mind’s creation. No, use the fear to commit to becoming free.

Does that scare you even more?

Why?

Because the worst part is our slavery is an illusion, one we are not willing to sacrifice. One thing we fear more than the certainty that we are not free: the uncertainty that we could be. We become terrified when someone shakes our shackles. But that fades. And soon the terror of slavery is replaced with the fear of the unknown. A chance at heaven is much more frightening than realizing we are stuck in hell.

The post the comes out is what we(new bloggers) know we are supposed to do. It sounds like great advice. Problem is we don’t follow it ourselves, and so it’s meaningless. I am confident enough to write, but not confident(or committed) enough to take the advice.

Do yourself a favor, if you haven’t done what you are about to post, write about what you have done instead(for instance writing how you hven’t done what you write about doing, ahem.). The world will be much better about it.
