About Me

Cannon Shot Quick (or TL;DR)

Nate is a husband, family man, friend, and neighbor. Don’t let the down home, calm cool and collectedness fool you, he is driven to a degree that is gaudy. Nate is a game changer, a leader, and a motivator. Nate brings something special to the table… his vision and drive for the future, a general outlook on life, and the belief that everyone is a design of lite brite awesomeness.

Fair warning: Strap in causes chances are you’ll break a bone on this ride.

Long Story

He has lived his life the way he has wanted to, and on his terms. He has directed his trolley for 6 years. He is not ‘just along for the ride.’ Life is what he wants it to be because he has made it that way. Can you say that? If not, stay tuned and learn a thing or two from someone who has been around the block(not just talked about it). Life is a multiplayer game. Join Nate, and fly your freak flag.

Nate is breaking the backboard dominate. For 6 years he has taken chances and improved himself in ways that would make you shit yourself. This isn’t to say he hasn’t shit himself along the way. He has joined a Multi-Level Marketing Scheme. Cold Called, aka alienated, all his friends/non-friends from High School. He has gotten into debt, about $45,000 worth, including a 9% interest student loan and $8,000 in credit card. Thx MLM. Good news is he dug himself out of debt(currently only mortgages and 2% interest student loans)

He has started, and failed, 1 business, bought a rental property, and started freelancing.

He has been fired from Job A, which he really liked and actually saw a future for himself, by being stupid and immature. Reminder: You are one boneheaded move away from being fired, regardless how much they ‘need’ you. Hint:They don’t.

Good news is as a result of being fired, he doubled his salary and met some super cool people at Job B. After 3 years, he hated Job B and did what everyone else is scared shitless to do, he set a goal to quit, and in 7 months he had his walking papers signed. Truth is in 9 months he would have been fired anyway.

He was willing to take a $15,000(30%) pay cut, but the world took over and worked out a deal, and he only had to take a very small pay cut so now he works for Job C. Job C is a company with high values, and the same sense of community Nate has.

After a year at Job C he started to feel the effects of ‘I hate my job’ syndrome. It was bullshit. Nothing had changed. He was still willing to take 30% less. He blames it on drinking a little too much self help kool-aid. Everything in moderation. So he made up his mind to get comfortable, stop thinking like a loser, and start thinking of how he can make the most of the situation. And he is.

I graduated Earn1K and started my own freelance business.

He is a friend of the library. Like church folk, there are some people who just go to go, and some people who go to rock the house. I rock the library. Hard.

He teaches literacy to people who slipped through the cracks of our kick ass education-less system.

He also teaches computer skills to average, read: courageous, people.

Nate’s strangest belief is that this life… it’s heaven or hell. Literally.  It’s a kick in the teeth when you think you have a shot at heaven only to realize this is that shot and you’re screwing it up. Its ok though, Nate is focused on helping you find your heaven on earth. It’s not that hard.

Nate is a game changer, a leader, and a motivator. Nate brings something special to the table… his vision and drive for the future, a general outlook on life, and the belief that you are a design of lite brite awesomeness.

He sees in other people what they can not or refuse to see in themselves. He has a belief and faith in others that is uplifting and inspirational.

Stick around for a dose. You’ll be glad you did.

I am 27 years old(24 when I began starting(and quitting) this blog). I work full time in the IT field. I am a graduate of Ramit Sethi’s Earn1k Program which led me to a side gig as a computer teacher. You can find my review of his program here.

(This time around) I would like to share with you my journey as a freelancer and as someone who continually challenges himself. I hope you will learn from some of the mistakes I make or the decisions I come to. If you have any questions feel free to drop me a line. nate@nathanhans.com
